Attacking LEGO brushfires with my Wildland Ultra XT fire engine

The fire engine I built last year was mainly inspired by other LEGO builders, so I wanted to design something from scratch on my own. Here’s the result:

My brother sent me a link to the S&S Fire Apparatus Co’s awesome Wildland Ultra XT, and I just had to build this amazing vehicle — used by [...]

I just can’t stop building alien stuff

My latest is an interplanetary probe. I wanted to stick with the mix of angles from equilateral triangles and more simple bilateral symmetry at a smaller scale than many of the other creations in the theme. I also wanted to do something a little bit different with the engines.

Sometimes I even build myself

This weekend was one of those times. I built two new creations to add to my alien emissary’s fleet. I built a small flying probe, intended to be similar to a larger one that I’ve already built, as well as hexapodal robot. I also tried something new with the photography, and used [...]

Jumper crafts Phobos and Deimos

My latest space creation goes small for SCI-LUG’s recently ended Small Starfighter contest. Like several of the entrants, I’ve come up with a transforming design that capitalizes on the symmetrical quality of the bubble cockpit to include the third form of an atmospheric flight configuration.

What astonds me the most is the explosive magnitude of the [...]

My LEGO fire engine is ready to be apocafied

I’d always admired the great fire engines by Steven Asbury and Ralph Savelsberg, so when I built a fire house for Zombie Apocafest 2008, I knew I needed a fire engine like theirs.

The fire engine seats four and includes various compartments for their equipment. See more photos on MOCpages or Flickr.

A horror to end the year with

My final project of 2008 entails a sixteen square feet diorama depicting the theme that I know best: horror. In a Russian World War 2 setting, a collossal alien artifact which I refer to as the Black Fantasy Column towers from the ground, spreading darkness along with an invasion of Cyclopean Virtues across the landscape, [...]

Aurora spacefighter

It has been a long time since I designed and built a spaceship, but I’m glad I haven’t become rusty. My newest creation is called the Aurora, arisen from attempts to achieve an unusual shape with bley pieces. There are two shooting cannon parts that really go “pew pew”, so beware, the Aurora is coming [...]

A journey into insanity

I present my latest surrealist sculpture, called the Legacy of Vision. It is an exploration of the theme of insanity and a sequel to my earlier work, the Cry of Dreams. Both sculptures are made in similar style, depicting equally macabre subjects. Likewise, I have a bit of writing accompanying this work, which will offer [...]

There is always a Bigger Fish!

Another one of mine. I was playing around with the new Lego shark and was comparing him with the previous renditions. I think this was inevitable!

A Classic Confrontation

I don’t think I would ever chase a bear with a spear, but I’m not a caveman either…

Racer Mechs roundup

The racer mechs started by Legohaulic have inspired various versions created by other builders. The simple and sturdy design of the basic frame (building instructions) allows for much diversity to these runner machines, as you can see below.

Taking back our streets from the LEGO zombie horde

BrickCon is just around the corner. In fact, if you don’t register before September 8th, the price goes up to $60 and you won’t be guaranteed personalized stuff like engraved brick badges.
My contribution to the LEGO Zombie Apocafest display we’re organizing is an auto repair shop and a fire station in a diorama that I’m [...]

Celebrating GO MINIMAN GO – “30 Years: The Story of the Minifigure”

David Pagano, Nate Burr and myself were all recently asked by the LEGO Company to make a brickfilm to celebrate the LEGO minifigure’s 30th birthday.  This is my contribution, 30 Years: The Story of the Minifigure.  How many historical figures/events can you name?

Jimbo has a rough day

I took some time of time off to finish Jimbo’s rough day:

When the one-eyed snaked attacked, the two friends forgot to check their footing. Jimbo lost an arm and a leg to a mine, and it looked like his buddy Frank was about to lose even more. One could argue that the odds where against them.
“Finally, [...]

It’s a brand new day for Dr. Horrible

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity, Firefly, and now Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-Long Blog — everything that Joss Whedon touches turns to gold.
Here’s my take on a scene from Act II of Dr. Horrible:

Go watch all three episodes for yourself on DrHorrible.com (before the end of the day today, though — they’ll be gone after midnight, July [...]

Beyond the Sky

My latest contribution to the post-apocalypse theme is a diorama depicting a desolated scene where one man has remained on these grounds to construct a machine that will lead to salvation. But as time progresses, hope is about to turn into a deeply disturbing discovery. Find out what happened by reading the short story on [...]

My Ninja Girls

Charlie has his Angels…I’ve got my Ninjettes. I think mine would win.

Nannan’s lineup of cave racers

The cave racers fad started by Tim Gould is sweeping the community like a superfast swoosh. There are countless versions of these small crafts made by many builders and in all kinds of styles. While we have attempted to blog some in the past. It’s nearly impossible to keep up, but the majority of the [...]
