[April Fools'!] List of upcoming series 6 collectible minifigures

We recently found a list of upcoming series 6 collectible minifigs on a Bolivian toy website. We’ve added our speculation of the accessories that may be included with some of the characters. • Panda suit guy • Stunt man • Greek philosopher (with cloth toga and scroll) • Monk • Barbie • Skateboarder • Cannibal Continue reading →

[April Fools'!] Hitler discovers that collectible minifigs no longer have bar codes

If you’re still upset about LEGO’s removal of bar codes from the collectible minifigs, rest assured that you’re not the only one.

Custom printed minifigs and more from Citizen Brick [Review]

Joe of CitizenBrick.com recently sent me some custom printed LEGO elements to take a gander. A quick glance at his store revealed some interesting and potentially useful parts such as cobblestone tiles and a tattooed minifig. As far as I know, Citizen Brick is one of the few vendors who offer a variety of custom Continue reading →

Cleanup on aisle 5th

Series 4 Minifigures are popping up in stores right now, and Chris McVeigh (powerpig) has gotten his hands on them and featured the perhaps most favorited hazmat guy in a brilliant photo.

More than just a minifigure.

I think it really goes without saying that Morgan190‘s custom minifigures are simply brilliant. It’s nigh impossible to pick a favorite. He’s posted some fantastic ones in the month of March, so rather then suffer the consequences of choosing, I’ll just gather them here.

Something Completely Different

A little something cute by Moritz (Nolnet) to balance yesterday’s nightmare clown. It looks like he’s working on a series of these. I dig it, and not just because I’m holding a cute baby while I write this. Ok, so maybe I have cuteness on the brain…

Stormtrooper down

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll let this one by Shobrick speak for itself. Thanks for the tip ~Tac~

Is there a problem, commander?

You don’t need Jedi powers to sense that there’s been a disturbance in the force in Chris McVeigh‘s latest photo.

A minifig Christmas

If you remember some of the old Lego holiday catalogs, you may recall a few having covers that depict minifigs from different themes coming together to celebrate the holidays. I built this concept in a scene that features a gingerbread house and a Christmas tree. How many different themes are represented?

How to identify Series 3 Collectible Minifigures by dots on the bag

The LEGO Group’s evil plan to prevent LEGO fans from identifying the new Series 3 Collectible Minifigs has now been completely foiled. LEGO says that the barcodes were never intended to enable people to get past their cunning marketing ploy (ha!), so they eliminated the unique barcodes on the back of each Series 1 and Continue reading →

How to identify Series 3 Collectible Minifigs by touch through the bag

Those of us in the Pacific Northwest have been lucky enough to have the Series 3 Collectible Minifigures shipped to our little corner of the United States significantly earlier than the rest of the world. Hillel and Jeff aren’t the only ones out scouring our local Fred Meyer stores first thing in the morning. Since Continue reading →

New BrickArms direct-printed minifigs indistinguishable from official LEGO figs

Our friends over at BrickArms were kind enough to send along a couple of their new direct-printed custom minifigs a while back, and they’re quite possibly the single greatest leap forward in minifig customization technology since Brasso. Will Chapman uses a solvent inkjet printer that bonds the inks with the minifig’s ABS plastic, resulting in Continue reading →

After his speech at BrickCon, Hillel Cooperman was rewarded with the luck finding series 3 minifigs early at a Fred Meyer store. 11 cases later, here’s a first look at the contents of each box and the minifigs themselves.
