Creepy minifigs invade Halloween… again

Jamie Spencer (Morgan19) once again posted some very creative and creepy minifigs throughout the past several weeks. Most of them use custom non-LEGO accessories but some are made from all LEGO parts. Here are a few of my favorites:

See the many more in the gallery on Flickr!

I shall place you on a pillar.

Michael Jasper is brilliant when it comes to Mini-figure scale models–and his pillar technique is no exception.

It seems to be made up of light-saber blades and this gear. You can see more of his mini-figure scale creations here!
Thanks to Bruce for the find!

DK LEGO Book features Dan & Nannan [News]

Newly released and available on Amazon, The LEGO Book has LEGO creations from Brothers Brick bloggers Dan and Nannan.

The book is 200 pages long (in two volumes), and also includes a 96-page booklet celebrating the 30th anniversary of the minifig.

Candy coloured clown

It’s no secret that I’m fond of Pakistani trucks and it’s a love I share with Adam Grabowski (misterzumbi). Let’s face it, Adam does it better than me.
And for any doubters the bags are duplo sleeping bags.

Light & sound R2-D2 minifig is ready to insult C-3PO

Brickmodder has created an absolutely awesome R2-D2 minifig that lights up and burbles when you touch the stud on top of his dome.

Steven Marshall gives his minifigs a workout with the excellent ping-pong game.

Spinning minifig anatomy GIF reveals all

Time for the annual animated GIF! Lovely work as always, Jason Freeny.

Ankh-Morpork’s, um, not finest. I’ll think of something.

For years, Andrew humored my Discworld obsession by periodically blogging creations based on Terry Pratchett’s silly fantasy world, but now I get to do it myself. Sylvain (captainsmog) has created a new line of custom minifigures based on members of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch. Makes me want to build a Watch House for them. From [...]

A pig that doesn’t fly is just a pig

Jon Hall (jonhall18) has built a great Savoia S.21 seaplane, but the centerpiece of this LEGO creation for me is the custom minifig of Porco Rosso himself.

Thanks for the link, Horace!

Just funny

I’m not advocating a particular political position in the epic (imaginary) Classic Space vs Star Wars battle, this is just funny. Day 197 by Ken (KWG73) is titled “A Good Kicking.”

Ken’s been doing a regular 365 day photo project on flickr in which he displays great photographic skill, but during the last several weeks [...]

I will never golf . . .

. . . , but I think golfing with Power Miners might be pretty cool. This clever scene by Rok Stembergar (kokorozashi15) uses a few little tricks to great effect.

Fine, I admit enjoying mini-golf.

My favorite 365-day projects

I admire anybody who can sustain a routine for a whole year, and especially anyone who can do it with creativity. Having LEGO involved helps a bit too. Two people have ongoing projects that I’ve especially enjoyed, in which they commit their LEGO selves or minifigs to a series of adventures.
The first is Sarah [...]

Independence Day

This vignette by Justin Vaughn (-Mainman-/Xifux) that portrays a small group of Colonial soldiers at Valley Forge during the Revolutionary War seems particularly fitting for Independence Day. I’ve been sitting on it for a little while waiting for the right time, and this seemed to be it.

I love the snow clinging to the tree.

RIP Michael Jackson: 1958-2009

Whatever you thought of Michael Jackson later in his life, he leaves behind a legacy of iconic songs and amazing music videos. Ciamoslaw Ciamek captures Michael doing the moonwalk in “Smooth Criminal”.

Zombie minifigs infest Brian Colin’s paintings

Artist Brian Colin recently painted a series of small canvases featuring LEGO zombies. Gotta love that Classic Space zombie leading the horde.

Perhaps not the thing to hang in your baby’s nursery, but awesome on so many levels that I wanted to pick up a couple myself. Sadly, I was vetoed by my wife. The good [...]

LEGO Star Wars Chrome/Silver Stormtrooper minifig to be available online and in stores [News]

Many of you may know that during the recent Star Wars Weekend in LEGOLand, CA, the park sold a seemingly exclusive chrome silver Stormtrooper magnet that many fans and collectors including me have went lengths to get the limited 2 per customer. Good news for everyone: it has been confirmed with LEGO that the silver [...]
