WASP83 Drone battle bug by Corran101

As Thanel alluded to earlier, one of the new themes at BrickCon in two months is Battle Bugs. Harrison (Corran101) built this lovely WASP (Winged Arial Scout and Patrol) bot, complete with warning stripes.

Chris Malloy’s Iron Golem will do your steampunk bidding

With a gap between LEGO creations of almost two years, it’s great to see something new from Chris Malloy (porschecm2). His Iron Golem is both sinister and adorably, simultaneously mechanical and biological.

The Chinese hats from the Adventurers Orient Expedition theme add a nice riveted look over the robot’s joints.

Such a heavy load to tote…

This poor overloaded Mech, by Uspez Morbo, has such a hard life. I pity him.

Mecha Frenzy

I’ve noticed a flood of great mecha creations being posted lately, and I’d like to call attention to a few of them.

Kyle Vrieze (bermudafreze)has really out-done himself with his latest mecha, the AC01 above. He’s done some great things with armor, especially around the ankles, and I also quite enjoy the head. He [...]

A Horrifying Discovery

Tyler has concocted this bizarre scene, in which one mech finds the grisly remains of a friend. Besides being well-constructed, this scene really conveys a certain pathos. I feel sorry for the poor guy!

VOTOMS Scopedog

Johnny Tang built the Scopedog mecha from VOTOMS in all its armored magnificence. The creation stands about 1.5 feet tall and features a furnished cockpit revealed in the video below.

Editor’s note: This creation incorporates large amounts of non-LEGO elements from a brand called BTR or “Built to Rule,” from Hasbro. Despite featuring “mixed media” creations [...]

I can hear the thump

It must be the Dawn Forge. Brian Kescenovitz brought this giant walker in a diorama to BrickWorld this year. In the scale of a minifig-populated scene, it clearly trumps everything in sight.

Read more about the creation on MOCpages.

Transforming 10187 Volkswagen Beetle

Why is this 10187 Volkswagen Beetle by Alex Schranz yellow?

Well, I suppose the post title gives it away, but click the pic to see this lovely classic Beetle in “robotmode”.

There are hardsuits…

…and then there are hard suits.

Lord Dane takes the chunkification of hardsuits to new heights with this LEGO Star Wars suit operated by a clone trooper. The legs are wholly unique, while fitting in nicely to the Imperial aesthetic.

Gimley wants you off his lawn

Bionicle builder retinence branched out to LEGO SYSTEM mecha recently, with excellent results.

“Project Gimley” has a lot of personality. I mean, how challenging is it to make an immortal mecha look old?

Choronzon and The Whisperer

There’s not much in the way of post titles that can top the unique name Kaye gave his latest, even stranger mecha.

The head is just plain weird (which isn’t a bad thing), and all the horns give this demonic mecha quite an organic feel.

Skids & Mudflap – LEGO Transformers from Revenge of the Fallen

Until a certain decreasingly juvenile wizard graces theaters next Wednesday, the 150-minute chase sequence, errr, Michael Bay extravaganza known as Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen remains the #1 movie in America.
My irrelevant movie critique aside, John Ho (IcedPlusCoffee) brings us a pair of rather cool cool-looking characters from the film.

No, they don’t actually [...]

Battle for the Moon!

The year: 1953. The US and Soviet space programs are in full swing, and a war rages for control of earth’s only natural satellite, the moon. Shannon Ocean has the full story.

See many, many more awesome Battle for the Moon creations by Shannon on MOCpages.

MEDbot is good for what ails you

This medical bot by Rong Yiren appears to be the result of an unholy union between a Mech and a Segway. What’s really cool is that it looks awesome!

The last stand at Zion

I’d been looking forward to Tyler Clite’s (Legohaulic) display for BrickWorld before the event, so I naturally split my face with a smile so wide when I saw Zion Dock Defense in person. This scale of this creation and the sense of action conveyed by the dynamic poses of the APUs and the Sentinels are [...]

Project Lilium

Retinence has concocted a very nicely streamlined Mech. He calls it Project Lilium. I call it Pretty Darn Cool.

Feel secure under the watchful eyes of nnenn’s security bots!

LEGO creations by nnenn certainly don’t lack for color. His rainbow of security robots are simultaneously adorable and formidable.

Bot-O-Matic does the job!

Jordan Schwartz steps up to the plate with this retro-bot. There’s just something about it that makes me want one. Maybe it’s the cute look. Maybe it’s the mandibles of destruction. Maybe it’s the fact that Jordan says it will do housework. Anyway, you need one too.

Tengen Taishi mecha by Phong Chang

I hadn’t encountered LEGO mecha builder Phong Chang until recently, but it looks like he’s been building some pretty cool mecha for some time. His latest is apparently an update to an earlier version, titled “Tengen Taishi” — inspired by the recent anime series Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann.

Electric Counterpoint

Kaye may have dropped off the LEGO scene for a while, but he’s back with a couple of unique mecha. My favorite is Kronos, with a pair of massive guns slung over its shoulders.

Check out more pics of Kronos on Flickr, along with Gunhead.

Don Solo’s industrial drone has but one function

…to tease Walter, Don Solo’s M-8 droid.

ObedientBot waits to do your bidding

This sad, tall robot by Alex Eylar represents a definite departure from his usual LEGO creations. Different, but still excellent.

Welcome to the jungle

Carter Baldwin presents a jungle ambush scene involving the attack by two suited mechas on a tank. The action is well defined and the jungle ruins atmosphere is no short of exotic.

ALA-N the Retro Mech goes exploring

Brent Waller’s fabulous retro-mech made me write this post. But I really like the vintage spacesuit feel of this creation, so its okay.

Jordan takes flight

With this steampunk robot, by Jordan Schwartz, the sky is the limit!
