This time they will not fail

These dwarves aren’t going to take it lying down anymore. The vile, nefarious dragon is no match for their high-tech weaponry. This time things will be different. This time they will not fail. This Castle Spoof scene was made by me.

Definitely not a bored room

I usually steer clear of multi-coloured brick-because-it’s-in-fashion art and design but I have to confess this particular boardroom table caught my eye. Not only is it genuinely made entirely of real LEGO (22k pieces of it no less) but there is no glue involved and a bunch of cute details including the client’s name. As Continue reading →

Ghamorel, Infernal Artificer

Morgan19 is an amazing customizer. His presentation on all of his creations is quite impeccable. I particularly like how each figure has a back story or something to accompany and enhance it in some way. Ghamorel is a good example of this.

Kaching!

Dave Shaddix likes to work to his own rulebook. In this case his rulebook told him to make three Kachinas: Angwusnasomtaka, Talavai and Palavitkuna. I love studs sideways sculpting. For those wondering Dave has been kind enough to add a picture showing how it’s done.

Brickforge releases Centaurs! [News]

Recently, Brickforge released the latest of their custom “animals”…the mythical Centaur! I ordered some and I have to say that I love ‘em. They are available in three colors (Tan, Brown, Dark Tan).

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Captain Spaulding built a scene from French writer Jules Verne‘s science fiction novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. What makes this vignette a hit is the use of a framed ocean backdrop to to put the scene in context. The custom seaweed looks to be made from cut up sprue pieces. The effect is nice Continue reading →

Appleseed Cubedudes

Lovers of Masamune Shirow don’t need to feel left out of the Cubedude phenomenan as Paul Meissner (legosamurai) has rendered the leading duo from Appleseed in blocky glory.

Ride the Tiger

Do not adjust your monitor. This is 100% LEGO. Shiny LEGO! bricksonwheels is showing off his homemade chrome collection and building skills to brilliant effect.

A Warrior Born

I admit…I don’t look at a lot of custom minifigures. But there are, on occasion, those that give me pause. This is one of them: Created by geoshift, the detail work is impressive and the paint itself is very clean. It’s stunning. Of course, looking at the rest of the photostream, I realize I’ve clearly Continue reading →

Contest: GHL building contest

The good people at GHL are running a contest: To kick off our marketing and promotion efforts here in the Dominion planet of “Earth”, we at Galactic Handling and Logistics have decided to hold a contest, since the initial brain-scans and surveys have concluded that Terrans are a competitive bunch and best motivated by “free Continue reading →

Truckin’ in style

This Peterbilt rig by Bricksonwheels is to die for. While the shiney chrome goodness leaps out at you, the build is phenomonal. Remoted controlled via Power Functions and featuring all sort of fun features, this truck truly rocks.

WarholBots embrace kitsch and pretty colors

It’s always enjoyable to be able to lift a title straight from flickr. Alex Eylar (Profound Whatever) is the inventor (or maybe discoverer) of the adorably cute WarholBots. EDIT: Alex has just made it easier to see his collection of artbots.

Lego Iron Man privatizes world peace one brick at a time

I just watched Iron Man 2 this weekend, and I’m happy to see that Peter C. has captured the awesomeness of Iron Man in an action figure sized build. The head is a custom Lego-compatible piece from Hazel’s Amazing Armory, the core is a Clickits icon.
