Soaring eagle

Danny Rice (Big_X) isn’t known to be prolific, but when he builds, something amazing always results. Check out this life-like scupture of an eagle, which I had passed off earlier as an actual model while browsing thumbnails.

Award-Winning Butterfly

BisonFuehrer recently posted this award-winning creation. Though built back in ‘97, it still has the ability to impress.

Mean Green Mother from Outer Space

Nathan Proudlove has grown -I mean built- his own mutant man-eating plant, Audrey II (from Little Shop of Horrors, entirely out of Bionicle pieces.  Incredibly, this is Nathan’s first Bionicle creation.  Nathan was inspired after listening to an interview of Bryce McGlone, who was recently featured on LAML.

Crimson Wolf builds a Dragon Temple

Newcomer Crimson Wolf, winner of the Small Category of the recent Picking Up The Pieces ApocaLEGO Contest with his Mine/Cave Hideout, has just posted pictures of another great creation, a Dragon Temple to “honor a lesser dragon god.”  The temple is beautiful, with many great details, but my favorite part is the dragon itself.

Mommy Rex is very angry…

Mike Psiaki (who is no stranger to being blogged) has built a climatic scene from The Lost World: Jurassic Park that is better than the movie it was based upon!

Also check out Mike’s three Pteranodon and Parasaurolophus:

EDIT: fixed errors, thanks Dr. Paleo!

Tentacle monster + schoolgirl = Legohaulic’s disturbing vignette

Things are unlikely to end well in this vignette by Tyler:

Note the suckers on the tentacle, as well as the Lowell-Lambrecht sphere from which the unlucky girl is suspended.

This chair’s bark is worse than its bite

Nannan’s post earlier today about Matt’s bitey yellow schoolbus reminded me of Teikjoon’s bitey yellow chair.
Behold the “Barkalounger!”

Note how the rider’s legs form the eyes. How cool is that?

RAMMosaurus!

Mike Psiaki joins the RAMM fun with a brachiosaurus in RAMM livery:

And a bonus Jurassic Park helicopter:

Snyderman’s alien cat

This “bionically enhanced alien cat” by Brickshelf user synderman doesn’t look like a friendly household pet, but it sure can be something to unleash on your enemies. With deadly jaws and sharp claws, this beast isn’t one to be messed with. I love how the builder captured the curvatures of the feline body in this [...]

Another Troll bites the dust

It seems that the new Trolls keep popping up everywhere. Sadly this one was hunted down, beheaded, and hung on a wall. Check out Troll’s Head Inn by MrTS

Wait. Who exactly let Keith in?

I’m extremely pleased to announce that Keith Goldman has joined The Brothers Brick as our resident Columnist.
Keith is one of those LEGO fans of near-mythical proportions. Having met Keith in person, I can report that he stands nine feet four inches tall (that’s twelve meters for you Canadians), and is able to levitate his [...]

Mike’s T-rex is hungry

Mike Psiaki’s ferocious T-Rex looks like it’s hungry for prey. It might as well feed off Mike’s other two newest dinos: the triceratops and brachiosaurus.

Deeper into Planet Nidoria with Chrispockster

The intrepid retro-space astronauts of Chrispockster’s exploratory crew continue to encounter fascinating residents of the Planet Nidoria. Nidorians are of course famous for their bright green thoroughbred mounts (that’s a Bionicle creature put to excellent use):

The crew itself has recently received an upgrade, accompanied by Robbie the Robot:

He’s fat, he smokes and he’s brick

Ballchoi presents the adorably cute Fat Dragon. Would smoking kill a fire breather?

Cagerrin’s Bionicle frog has an adorable mechanical leg

Cagerrin’s poor Bionicle frog must have lost a leg, but Cagerrin is a kind soul, so now the frog has a mechanical leg:

Since the leg is apparently steam-powered, this is our first post to contain the word “frogpunk” (though not the first reference to the concept). See Cagerrin’s Brickshelf gallery for delicious froggy goodness.
Thanks to [...]

Arvo builds a hermit crab

The Arvo brothers‘ latest addition to their awesome creations gallery is a lonely hermit crab carrying an incredibly beautiful shell, where the pattern of the spiral is created with white hemisphere windscreen pieces.

A horse by any other name…

…wouldn’t be as cool as this one.
Check out this incredible pegasus by edulyoung

Many thanks to Bruce of VignetteBricks for pointing this out on Classic Castle

Triumphant Samurai

Tyler’s (Legohaulic) fantasy samurai stands gracefully poised while clutching the head of a slayed monster. Inspired by this artwork, Tyler captures the victorious pose and the dazzling fantasy elements and depicts them all in this sculpture.
