Gears of Jelly
V&A Steamworks has released yet another incredibly detailed clockwork sea-creature into the ocean depths. This one wants to sting you.

The miniaturization of LEGO dachshunds continues. Brickshelfer w9gfo recently posted this lovely little dog, completely with lolling tongue.
Here’s hoping Joel’s puppy enjoyed this post as much as Josie did.

Karf Oolhu weirded me out. I think it was on purpose.
Rong Yiren trots out this red beastie. I love the pose on this guy. Looks like he’s about to go for your throat in a totally whimsical way.
Sounds like it should a horrible mashup of bandwagon themes, but it’s actually one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. Nathan Proudlove built this steampunk battle bug for this year’s BrickCon in Seattle. Way to bring it.
Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Yes, I know this picture, by Jason Railton is rather old, but I just found it. It has the best wave technique I’ve ever seen, bar none. Incredible!
Tyler reels in a very cool one, with this elegant creation. I love the smooth contours of this beauty.
You can see the entire aquatic scene here.
ArzLan knows, perhaps it’s a giant centipede with a deadly stinger and a hungry appetite.
Thanel had cats growing up. I had dogs. To counteract his most recent cat-centric post, I give you Pugsly, with random LEGO animals on his head.
Balance has now been restored to the blog. All is well in the LEGO world.
This vignette by Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) is just too beautiful and surreal to pass up.
David Pickett (fallentomato) built this pair of lovely creatures he’s named “Piffish and Herbart” during the BrickWorld 2009 Combo Build competition out of the pieces from three sets (8113, 8114 and 8115). I love the coloring and especially that what in other builds might be considered the “wrong” side, in this creation adds visual texture. [...]
As a Wii owner, I’ve been feeling a little bit abandoned lately — no, Nintendo, I don’t want to play yet another incarnation of Wii Sports. And Wii Fit?! Are you kidding me?
These LEGO Pikmin creations by Filip Felberg (also on Flickr) made me smile, though, thinking back to those happy weeks in the summer [...]
With Josie sitting next to me while I eat cheese puffs, I would probably be licked into submission if I didn’t blog Joel Baker’s adorable pair of dachshunds — one real, one LEGO.

This white whale, fighting a giant squid, by Ryan Rubino is awesome enough to make Captain Ahab blanche.
Way cool, Nathan Proudlove.
I have nothing useful to say about this lovely little diorama by Yvonne Doyle (YVD). It just makes me smile.

Just when you think you have seen it all, Lino jumps out of nowhere with something new. He is an incredible builder and he doesn’t rest on his laurels. He is constantly trying something new and it’s usually top-notch. This “Battle Bug”, based on the Rhinoceras Beetle, is freakin’ awesome.

From beetles to snails, we’ve enjoyed the encounters that Geppelin’s minifigs have had with animals over the years, but none are cuter than this kitten meeting a ninja.
Thanks for the link, little bro! Hope I didn’t make Tsunami too jealous.
This black pug by Raphael is, after all, rather adorable.
Oh Pugsly, the things you make me do…
