Juho William Tauriainen takes us on an underwater adventure with this scene built largely from Bionicle pieces. He has managed to achieve a very organic, eye-catching look here.

It appears we’ve found another Valve fan in Arkov, whose Turret from Portal captures the whimsically terrifying nature of these nasty little robots.

If you were looking at an Aperture Science Military Android from this angle, there would be blood on the wall behind you. Just sayin’.

Juho William Tauriainen has created a creative creation. The pose is actually rather striking.

As if you can’t already tell by the impish look he’s giving you. What I like the most about this creation by Ian Barreto is the way the head is sculpted into a perfect sphere from the various Bionicle parts, making a very fitting combo.

I suspect I’m the last person on the planet who hasn’t seen Avatar yet (though I’ve never watched James Cameron’s Titanic either). Harvey Cu seems to have caught a showing of the latest epic, resulting in a rather nice Thanator beast:

LEGO has just announced that 2010 will be the last year for new Bionicle sets; starting summer 2010 a new line of similar buildable figures will be released. This will mark the end of nine years since the arrival of the first Toa in 2001. Below is the official announcement from LEGO:

Juho William serves up this surreal creation. Everything seems to come together perfectly to create a creepy sense of wonder. I’m fascinated and can’t stop looking at it.

Cameron (Primus) draws inspiration from Greek and Roman mythology for his latest Bionicle creation.

Guy Himber (V&A Steamworks) recently kicked off a series of LEGO creations that each incorporate a Knights Kingdom II shield.

Guy started with a clockwork lionfish (above) and followed it with an eagle ray (below).

As always, Guy combines SYSTEM, Duplo, and Bionicle elements in new and interesting ways.

Matt Armstrong isn’t called MonsterBrick for nothing. Especially since he recently gave birth to this incredibly awesome death machine.

He also took new pics just for us, so we were forced to blog it. Otherwise he might have let this thing loose on us….

I think we’re past being amazed that Bionicle builders do some cool stuff, but as a SYSTEM builder, I just don’t have the vocabulary to discuss Bionicle intelligently. Maybe learning the lingo is Step 2 in my 12-step acceptance of Bionicle…

BioniBlogger Ean H. (Arpy) is a talented Bionicle builder himself.

This creature by Harry44 was not something I needed to see in the early hours of the morning. Is this supposed to by Ronald McDonald? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, its kind of scary…

We don’t blog enough Bionicle creations, but that doesn’t mean that good ones aren’t out there. Check out this robotic horror by JP-54 for the BBC #53 contest. The creation exploits the diversity and biomechanical form of Bionicle pieces to create the perfect texture for a terror-inspiring monster.

Justin Vaughn (Mainman) has been using Bionicle parts from 8978 Skrall to create this novelty space faction called the Hellionic Conclave. The primary features of these diabolical creations highlight the interesting shapes of Bionicle elements mixed with the standard System bricks.

Patrick Biggs (Kopakashau) combined Bionicle elements with System parts to make this striking Toa variation of Pohatu. I just love the flexibility on this and most Bionicle based creations. Of course, the cool weapon choice makes the creation complete.

BZPower member The Zipper recently posted this “hornet-like creature” that you probably wouldn’t meet in your great aunt’s garden — not that you’d want to!

The Zipper’s design also gives her creature a look akin to a Zerg Mutalisk — another nasty beast whose acquaintance you’d best avoid.

Mark Stafford (Nabii) is a master at incorporating LEGO SYSTEM and Bionicle elements into his creations. While the wings on his Flitterfly ornithopter are Bionicle, the cockpit and fuselage are almost entirely SYSTEM.
I’m particularly keen on the radial engine and the Viking tiles on the tail.

This is the second time this weekend that we’ve shown flowers leading to deadly consesequences. Look at what Megan Rothrock has created – an overly abundant pink diorama with an insect decapitating a poor space explorer who picked the wrong flower. Lesson learned, don’t pick flowers.
