Friday Night Fights: In pursuit of Exo-llence

Welcome back fight fans, to Sin City Nevada for another round of Friday Night Fights. Tonight we join an ongoing fray, as the LEGO world continues to be gripped with Exo-suit mania. Hec, even the animals are getting in on the action! But let’s up the ante and give this a cinematic twist, shall we?

In the R-rated corner, we have a recreation of an A.P.U. from The Matrix Trilogy by Niki Dregant:

While over in the PG-rated corner, lurks a Unikitty-piloted Cloud Cuckoo Land Mech by Martin Gee:

As usual, constant reader, you are tasked with deciding, by way of comment, who will stomp their way to glory, and who is destined for the scrap heap. On the last edition of Friday Night Fights, Devil in the architecture Details, Nick Barrett’s Georgian town house prevailed with a monumental score of 11-0. Tune in next week for another action packed edition of Friday Night Fights!

Thanks for featuring my Unikitty mech! I’m honored. I’ve always been a huge fan of the A.P.U. and love this build but will have to vote for my own. =P Thanks Brothers Brick!

I love the Cloud Cuckoo mech, but visually I can’t get over how Unikitty’s head has to be partially dissembled to fit. If not for that, it would probably have the win for me. On the other hand, the A.P.U. is superbly built (even if very similar to every other mech ever) and slightly edges out the win here; A.P.U. for me.

I’m going to vote for Unikitty even though the other is a great build, not building a mecha out of black or very very dark grey, is a creative win!

At the end of the day, a vote for both is a vote that doesn’t count. Regardless, I’m going to throw in my voice and say it’s a solid TIE!

They’re both awesome! For all the reason already stated. The A.P.U. is a great rendition of the movie’s hardware with some nice building features that help pull off the look, and the Cloud Cuckoo Land Mech is a concept and execution too perfect not to end up in The LEGO Movie sequel. I picture both of these builds fighting side by side against an onslaught of the Alien Duplo Kaiju promised at the end of TLM.

Long time lurker- deciding to finally make an account just to say that Mecha-kitty is awesome and I’d be swooshing that around my living room right now if I could!
