It’s very busy in the Parisian Restaurant. As a scooter zips by, inside the waiter rushes between the tables as the nervous young man gets ready to propose with the ring! It’s just as hectic behind the scenes, with the chef busily preparing the food. This beautifully detailed building is the setting for so many stories and is a great addition to the modular building series. The Parisian Restaurant has a fully-stocked, blue and white tiled kitchen with tableware as well as a cozy apartment with pull-down bed, kitchenette and fireplace. On the top floor is the artist’s room with a studio that includes a cast iron heater, easel, paintbrush and two works of art by the aspiring artist. Outside, stairs lead down to the roof terrace lined with hanging lanterns and flowers where the diners eat alfresco-style. This amazing Parisian Restaurant model even includes a facade with croissants, clams and feather details that recapture the feel of Paris. Includes 5 minifigures: chef, waiter, girl and a romantic couple.

Adorable! My first reaction was to think it rather petite, but this was immediately followed with discovering all the inspired intricacies and wealth of details, thought and care that went into the design. Thank you to the designers in advance. January can’t come soon enough.

Fantastic building! The details and colors in this model are really a step above the previous ones.

I also noticed how similar this building is to my “French Cafe” that was featured on here in the past. The restaurant/ bakery on the bottom floor, a bedroom in the middle floor, and a studio on the top, with a fold down roof. Also little details like the dumpster and rat in the back. I don’t mind it at all, but it’s interesting on how their models sometimes appear to be inspired by those in the community.

Saw this in person (had to elbow a bunch of rugrats out of the way) a while ago. Very cool, and neat to hear Jamie talk about it and be so excited for the set.

The description of the artist’s loft reminded me of this onion article:
European men vs. American women studying abroad

BTW kidding about the rugrats, I did no elbowing, only towered behind them. Pretty cool to see so many kids and young adults so excited about a modular building set.

This is a great set. It was a pleasure to see it unveiled at BrickCon.

@Carson – I just went and looked at your French Cafe. Other than the concept, I really don’t see much resemblance. Dumpsters are generally out back and including a rat wouldn’t require rocket science. Many buildings of this kind would have a bedroom on the second floor and a studio on the top. It is a common idea.
