WHOAHOOO! So hard to pick a favourite. Both are absolute classics which I have drooled over for years, but I gotta give it 3vil and the Asmodeus.

The Vanguard is nice but I’ll take skulls over boilerplate any day. Oh the Vanguard’s not boilerplate you say? That’s fine, I’m not a space fan so I don’t know the difference. I just see typical vs WHOA!

When I saw the 3vil ship, I was sure they would pull some nasty tricks to have a victory, but as I scrolled down and saw their sworn enemy, the Vanguard, I knew the Skulls didn’t stand a chance. The Vanguard is just too sturdy and noble of a ship to be taken down by the likes of 3vil. And lo, the Vanguard, and all its crew, lived to see another day.

Wow, that’s a tough one. On the one hand, it’s hard to imagine anything daring to stand up to the Asmodeus. On the other hand, the Vanguard has been the benchmark of SHIP-building and greeblage my entire Lego career. Sorry Mark, I’m going with Chris and PCS for this one, because good must triumph over 3vil!

Vanguard takes my vote. The giant skulls are good (big fan of giant skulls in fact), but in the end, it still looks like a flying fun house. Vanguard looks a little more… dignified? I saw them both in person, and I do recall the use of minifig skulls in the Asmodeus Missile “War Heads”. Genius… 3vill genius. Great work by both builders! Attack!
