Haha, yes it is Ash. The Pokémon weren’t necessarily meant to belong Ash, I just built these guys because they were the most recognizable and sounded fun. There’s nothing better than just building for fun!

That’s probably not Ash, judging by the Pokémon. Ash never owned a Blastoise or Venusaur because he’s an idiot and he sucks. If anything it’s more likely to be Red, the player character of Red/Blue/Yellow/FireRed/LeafGreen and a powerful optional opponent in Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver/Black 2/White 2, on whom Ash was loosely based (and by loosely I mean that Red is actually competent).

Seriously, the anime is not the be-all and end-all of Pokémon.
