I’m surprised they don’t have an official set out already, considering they did two for the Opportunity / Spirit rovers (one technics and one mini).

I would hardly consider that a problem . I would be extremely happy to see Curiosity as a LEGO set, no matter how it happens.

Only thing I can see possibly throwing a spanner in the works is that they may already be working on an official set. Love to see this one happen though.

Great article! Sorry about the white neck brackets (I knew they would be trouble). I simply could not find a better way to get the “laser-eye” to look just right. I suppose the mast could be redesigned so it is permanently in the deployed position and not need the second neck bracket. Well, perhaps next year they won’t be so rare anymore!

^ Good point about online PaB, and I nearly freaked out when I read your comment thinking I needn’t have spent … too much :-) on Bricklink bulking up to minimum orders with pieces I don’t immediately need. But the specific parts I don’t have in my own inventory turn out not to be in online PaB either (like the white neck brackets, which were only released in the 2003 X-Wing, the round white sign, and the Technic cams). Phew!

Very glad to see this project getting some love. I was like the 25th supporter, and I’ve been cheering for it since then. Most of the parts are available through online PaB.
