Yah that is awesome and cool. I play Minecraft and the game is awesome, and I also build with Legos and that is awesome. So now that they are combined they are Double the Awesome.

Technically, this is NOT the first LEGO CUSOO set – that was the Japanese submersible.

This is the first worldwide set, maybe, or US set, but you need to qulaify the word “first”

Seems like the challenge of building these sets are not there.

Though some small parts are desirable … the challenge of building these sets are not there (almost zero playability/build-a-bility value) . I rather buy the parts separately from bricklink.

I dont see any 1×1 slopes there, which are high on my wanted list for smooth MOCs. :[

…a reasonable part scaping set I guess, although I think I’ll just stick with BrickLink on this occasion ;-)

Thanks to their choice of micro scale, I expect we’ll see a flurry of fan-made extensions to the concept to start appearing very soon, covering all the block types that this set doesn’t cover, popular mods, and so on.

–> I eagerly await to see who comes up with the first decent Enderman at this scale!

Of course, the minute my kids see the picture of this set, I can kiss goodbye to any semblence of order to my Lego workshop. I just know they are going to ransack it to create massive micro minecraft landscapes. But if it gets them away from actual Minecraft for a few minutes in the day …I am all for it!

On the LEGO Minecraft Facebook page, the image indicates 480 pieces for $34.99. So, pretty good! It isn’t quite at the level of the brick only sets, but that’s probably to be expected.

they look great. I’ve never played Minecraft, but I’ve always been on board with this idea. The modular concept is great, and I’m all for the excessive amounts of 1×1 tiles in harder to come by colors:) I’m glad Kansas City will be getting a Lego store this summer!
