BrickArms gets shiny!
I have a soft spot for shiny things, and I can’t take my eyes off these 24K gold-plated BrickArms weapons. The good news is that you have a chance to get one in their newly released mystery packs. There’s a 5% chance you’ll strike gold when you spend $12 on a mystery pack, so happy hunting to all the BrickArms fans out there!

I can’t say I’m a fan of the collectible/random goodie approach to distributing unique BrickArms weapons any more than I am for LEGO minifigs, but it certainly seems like a solid business decision that will net them some serious profits from their fan base.

I assume when you say a 5% chance of striking gold, you mean the entire mystery pack and not just 1 item, correct? If so, I may need to give it a shot!

It’s not the entire pack unfortunately, or that’d be ridiculous.

Yeah, the way it works is that in every case of 20 packs, one of those packs will have a random gold-plated accessory in it. So overall you have about a 1 in 20 chance of getting that pack, or you can buy a sealed case of 20 in order to guarantee you get one.

I’m not sure about ridiculous, but thanks for the clarification. And catsy, that’s interesting information, thanks for that as well.

My but our little hobby is getting a bit mercenary. No offense to Brickarms, but this trend of squeezing the fans for every last dime on an already expensive hobby is not good.

^ Mercenary? Squeezing? I’m struggling to understand how either of these terms apply to this new pack.

Seems more like the cool prize at the bottom of a box of cereal than the whole Collectible minifig rarity thing.

Oh, and there’s no-one more “mercenary” than a small business owner. It’s what they do.
