Arcturus interstellar freighter

Jon Walker posted pictures of his SHIP that won Best in Space and People’s Choice awards at BrickCon 2009. I love the unique donut-shaped cargo containers. The lack of gaps between the wedges reflects the perfect technique that Jon used to create these shapes. The sand green spine adds a hint of color and the inclusion of two microscale escort fighters completes the setup.

  1. Didn’t this one win best of show at Brickcon last year or something? Or am I thinking of a different MOC?

  2. ^ I also think it’s one and the same

  3. It won the “Challenger Award (Best in Space)” and “People’s Choice” at BrickCon 2009 (Steve Barile won “Best in Show”).

Completed since September 2009, but it has taken me a very long time to get around to taking proper photos and posting them. Better late than never.

  4. Thanks for the info Jon, I’ve updated the post.

  5. Beautiful. I don’t care much for space stuff, but this just looks excellent. Awesome technique. Nifty details. I don’t even know what nifty means, but it’s good.

I don’t know which I like more….The detail or the colors featured in it. The choice of green really compliments the shape of the build.

When I saw this on display at ’09, I thought “well its pretty neat, definitely got some interesting shapes going on. Seeing it on a black background makes all the difference, I love it.
