LEGO SSV Normandy SR-2 from Mass Effect 2

Ben Fellowes has built a three-foot-long LEGO version of the SSV Normandy from the new Xbox 360 game Mass Effect 2.

LEGO SSV Normandy

I’m personally not sold on the Mass Effect series, after the first installment struck me as more than a little chatty, but I love this ship.

(Thanks to reader Michael for making sure we saw this.)

after the first installment struck me as more than a little chatty,

It’s a BioWare RPG. Could have seen chattiness coming, man. ;)
Mass Effect 2, by the way, is a bit of an improvement over the first. Somewhat less chat, though it’s still there. (BioWare, don’tchaknow?)
Rent it, at least, if you haven’t already.

    Regarding the ship.
Doctors are stunned. Nothing they’ve done has fixed my dropped jaw. This is one hell of a beast.

I started playing Mass Effect 2 without having played the first one, it takes a while to get used to the dialogue, but it’s worth it.

‘more than a little chatty’ ? To each his own, i guess. I’m the type that spends as much time as possible exploring as many branches of a conversation tree as possible, give me MORE! I’m thinking the 2mil who bought the game (NOTE: a sequel to another ‘more than a little chatty’ game) over the 1st week of release would more or less agree.

Regarding the MOC, love it! Props to the ‘look at my studs’ approach.

Chatty Mass Effect: feature, not bug.

Normandy in Lego: EPIC FRAKKING WIN.

Seriously, this is incredible. I considered trying to build this in a similar scale after doing the SR1 in micro, but now I think I’ll go back to brainstorming things which haven’t already been done this well. ;)

For the record, I said that I wasn’t entirely sold on ME, not that I disliked it. I don’t think anybody can deny that it is indeed quite chatty.

I’m currently 55 hours into Final Fantasy XIII, which is just as chatty as Mass Effect. I’m a huge RPG fan, and like Luigi explore every possible conversation branch.

That said, Mass Effect’s chattiness was driving my wife absolutely bonkers sitting in the same room as I played it. It’s like an interactive novel, which I like, but it’s not something that’s especially good for vicarious/peripheral entertainment.

Heh, just beat my first Mass Effect 2 run (beat the first game twice, working on a third go round. Like Andrew and Luigi I can’t miss a single line of dialogue. Drives my family nuts too. =P)

Actually, the credits just finished rolling for ME2…

Beautiful game, beautiful ship, and absolutely GORGEOUS Lego model. I want one.
