when the Michelangelo painted 12,000 square feet of the Sistine Chapel, did the price of paint go up? i don't believe TT Games has any influence over the price of LEGO what-so-ever. with approx 200 employess and approx the same no of LEGO kits dotted about plus another 200 odd broken down of various sizes. thats still only 2 sets per employee. not very much really... i had more than that for christmas last year.

all this is detracting from the topic of this post anyway....

i still love that forklift.... :)
delighted to have you on board carl.

I don't really see how a single studio would be any more likely to contribute to price fluctuations than any given AFOL working on a big project. I've spent at least $250 in parts on the Ringworld alone so far, and that investment is tiny compared to what went into projects such as Junpei Mitsui's Yamato or any number of Train layouts.

I used the words "we MAY start looking" so honestly I wouldnt worry over nothing. I also am a huge personal user of Bricklink, so any "company purchases" would effect me the same as anyone else, obviously I'm keen for secondary market values to stay as low as the next person!

So, of course average builders are now competing with modeling/design companies for parts on the secondary market. Probably always have been, it's just the first time it occurred to me.

The more competition we have there, the higher the costs will be. I don't think the average buyer has a company backing his purchases.
