^ Either one would be a legitimate interpretation of the category. That said, we wouldn’t expect most people to have a bunch of 20-year-old minifigs lying around. :)

About the time categories- Let’s say you do a diorama about the 80s. Does that mean the minifigs have to be from the 80s, or it has to take place in the 80s?

Originality (40%)
Creative use of the minifig (40%)
Building techniques, engineering, and detail of design (20%)
That last 20% sounds like it covers the lego dirorama aspect.
It would be a shame if it came down to who had the most lego blocks.

^ Although the rules don’t specifically state this, the GO MINIMAN GO Photo Contest is a LEGO contest, so I think you’ll be more likely to place higher if the dioramas and vignettes you submit are built from LEGO. ;-)
