If you want to play this game, and have never experienced this genre before, then it is definitely worth the try. However, I do believe those that have played DotA a lot will find this game terribly disappointing.

personally, im not a fan of 40k (thought the imperial gaurd and marines are cool) but i like some of the suff in it (including this)

I really like this. I think it'd be fun to play those desktop war games with Lego models. There was a few great Warhammer 40k-inspired MOCs featured here recently.
