7628 Peril in Peru, Toys R Us-exclusive LEGO Indiana Jones set [News]
UPDATE: 7628 Peril in Peru is now available from the LEGO Shop.
It looks like there will be a Toys R Us exclusive Indiana Jones set upcoming. It contains 625 pieces set with 6 minifigs. Currently these are the only pictures available from the Japanese Toys R Us website.

It looks weird to me.
The top looks too flat and smooth, the wings see to close to the front of the plane, and the front looks off.
It looks like a MOC by someone who didn’t have all the pieces they wanted.
Plus it will be $70-$90 (judging by the Japanese price), and that’s too much for me.

There’s nothing useful in this set that can’t be gotten from one of the other cheaper(and better) I.J. sets.

I like it. A good amount of figs with nice torsos that can easily be reused, a bunch of accessories, and what looks to be a very swooshable cargo plane. I’ll agree that the plane itself looks a little wonky and from what I can see *could’ve* been built a little better in places, but it still looks like a really fun interpretation.

Memory, I’m not sure, but I think that jeep is available as an exclusive to Brickmaster subscribers. The colors look different–like the Brickmasters version is greener (??). I’m not sure though.

Nah, the BM jeep is smaller and more compact; this one looks bigger.

Not a chance it will be less than $60.
It seems to be priced only slightly less than the temple, so that would be $80, but other countries get screwed so $60-$70 seem likely.

At first, I thought this was the Ford Trimotor from The Temple of Doom, but soon realized this is a DC-3. It looks spot on to me.

You’re right Robert, it is a DC-3. The wings are near the front on the real plane too. It looks like a great set, but I hope it’s going to be less than 60$. I have a low budget at 15 yrs old.

I receive my Toyfare Magazine #131 today and on Page 22 are pictures of the upcoming StarWars Lego Sets – AT-TE Walker, Magnaguard Starfighter, V-19 Torrent and the Indiana Jones TRU Exclusive – Peril In Peru set. Here is what it says:

It’s on the UK Toyrus page now as well as the Japan TRU page. Rumor has it June/July/August release dates based on the Japan TRU site and what was said to be in the Toyfair Mag.
UK Pricing is BP39.99 so US Price should be roughly $79.99

It’s a Toys R Us exclusive set that was released a few months ago. The price is $50, but right now it is a hard to find set.
